Marist freshmen and sophomores will be celebrating their homecoming dance Saturday, October 4 with the theme of “Maristpalooza.” This event will turn the Main and Hynes gym into a music festival with students able to enjoy dancing and activities at both locations.
There are also new additions to this year’s dance that were not previously implemented in the past.
“Inside the Hynes gym, we’re going to have a DJ, food, and cool photo opportunities. There will be a lot of cool backdrops that the art club is making. There is going to be a photo booth as well,” said Patrick Meyer, the director of the dance.
The price for a student is $35 and $70 for a couple.
Homecoming week follows October 6-10.
The week kicks off with pajama day on Monday, followed by tour stop Tuesday, where students can represent their favorite city, state, sports team, or vacation spot. Wednesday the theme is “Lei’d back,” with Hawaiian-themed apparel. Thursday the theme is USA with students wearing red, white and blue. Finally, the week concludes with students wearing colors based on grade level. Freshmen will wear white, sophomores gray, juniors red and seniors will wear black.
Junior-senior homecoming is Saturday, October 11.
