Four Marist students made the school proud over break with their success at the World Irish Dancing Championship.
The team including Moira Daly, Mary Claire Wagner, Charlotte O’Brien, and Mary Kennedy won first place. The competition was held in Glasgow just last week during spring break and they won in the team division.
This was a notable accomplishment and was announced on both the official Marist Chicago and Marist students Instagram to congratulate the girls on their victory.
“It was really exciting,” said Kennedy. “It was really fun and it felt like it paid off a lot.”
With all the hard work and dedication put into the competition, the team showed what they were capable of.
There will definitely be more to see from the Irish dancing team next year.
“Four of the girls on the team are from Marist. They’re all freshmen,” she said.
