The boys varsity basketball team is in the Final Four after winning the Super-Sectional for the first time in Marist history. They face off against York in the State Semi-Final at the University of Illinois in Champaign Friday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m.
Dozens of students have already signed up to accompany their journey on a fan bus which will depart from Marist at 11:30 a.m. Friday. March 13 was already a day off for students, as faculty is meeting for a previously scheduled retreat.
If the RedHawks win the first game, they play Saturday against the winner of the Bennet and DePaul showdown.
If they lose the first game, they play for a chance at 3rd place.
Tickets are still available online, although the student section is sold out. The Final Four will also be broadcast on the U television network.
The band escorted the team through the halls after announcements Thursday, March 12, as students came out of their classrooms to cheer them on before they make the trip downstate.
