The main gym roared with school spirit Friday, January 30, as students gathered for the annual winter pep rally, featuring high-energy performances, a competitive faculty basketball game and special surprise guests.
The crowd erupted during routines by the varsity cheerleaders and the dance team. Students cheered loudly as both groups showcased new choreography prepared for the winter sports season.
A highlight of the assembly was the highly-anticipated seniors versus teacher basketball game. The abbreviated scrimmage was a back-and-forth battle, ultimately ending in a hard-fought 15-15 tie as the buzzer sounded.
The energy peaked when the Chi-Town Tumblers made a surprise entrance, flipping across the gym floor. The professional tumbling team amazed the crowd with high-flying acrobatics.
The performance held special significance for the student body, as the troupe included a familiar face. Jamari Grant, a 2021 Marist graduate, returned to his alma mater as a member of the elite tumbling team.
