A blood drive at Marist January 17 will honor Trinity Eadie ’25 and help patients in the surrounding area.
Eadie was a dedicated MHS Media staff writer who passed away from complications from cancer in September. Her compassion and leadership during last year’s event inspired this year’s drive, and made a lasting impression on the Marist community.
“She was pivotal in the blood drive last year, and she helped a lot,” said Dean of Student Success Joy Lewis. “We thought after her passing, a good way to honor her memory is to dedicate this blood drive to her.”

The donations will help people in the Mount Greenwood area in need.
“The blood collected at the blood drive goes to local patients from area hospitals,” said Dean of Student Success Joy Lewis, who helped organize this event.
Slots to donate are filling up fast, with only a few still available.
“We have 46 appointment slots, and we have 35 slots filled,” said Lewis. “If we fill all of those slots, we have approximately 46 units of blood which could help about 120 patients.”
Those interested in signing up to donate blood should scan the QR code on the flyer picture above.
“Individuals 16 years and older are eligible to donate,” said Lewis. “Students who are 16 years old must have a signed parent consent form to participate.”
She has words of reassurance for those feeling nervous.
“I don’t think it’s much different from when you go to the doctor and your doctor takes your blood,” said Lewis. “They might take a little more here, but the nurses and the people that work at the blood drive are very gentle.”
A small act can help make a big difference.
“Your generosity can help save lives,” said Lewis.
