Marist surpassed its fundraising goal, collecting $512,884, for the eighth annual, ‘Day of Giving’ May 1. The money came in from various donors affiliated with Marist.
“There was a lot of excitement and we had a great night with plenty of generous donors, alums, teachers, parents, and students who came forward to get us to that goal,” said Mr. Ryan Tucker, Major Gifts Officer and Alumni Engagement.
The original goal of $375,000 was unexpectedly beaten within 24 hours.
“To get half a million was definitely a surprise but I think that was a testament to our community,” said Tucker.
The proceeds will help Marist students continue and excel in their Catholic education.
“[The funds] will be going towards scholarships, the Marist fund, and helping our operating budget… Clearly a big testament to the students. People keep wanting to give to Marist,” said Tucker.
