For dog lovers, it can be very hard to have love for another domestic animal. Maybe it is because they haven’t met any felines before. In my personal opinion, cats are far better than dogs or any other pet.
Although dogs are very lovable pets, cats can be the same way. Cats help comfort you, or give you company when you are alone. They are adorable, and can keep anybody warm on a cold and rainy day.
Cats are also a lot easier to take care of. Dogs have to be walked, you have to get hundreds of dollars worth of toys, along with having to pick up their nasty poop outside. On the other hand, cats bathe themselves, you can pick up their litter after a week, and they don’t need to be walked.
Cats are also much cleaner than dogs. Most dogs like to roll around in mud or snow, which can get caught in their paws and fur, and be very annoying to clean. On the other hand, cats usually never get messy, which is coming from a cat owner.
Dogs also tend to eat a lot more, which can make owners having to buy dog food a lot more often, which can lead to bigger expenses. Cats eat a lot less, unlike other house animals.
MHS media conducted a poll of 52 students which found 73.1% preferred dogs, while 26.9% chose cats.
Although this poll is not in my favor, I want more people to know that cats are animals that everyone can love.
They are adorable, when they are younger and older. Veterinarians say cats tend to live longer than dogs, which is another huge benefit.
Did you know that even though cats are nocturnal, they are usually very quiet at night? Dogs, however, bark until you let them out to go to the bathroom at three in the morning. Along with that, most of the species bark at merely people walking by, which can be very annoying if you’re trying to have peace and quiet.
Of those surveyed, 63.5% own dogs, 15.4% own cats, and 19.2% own no pets, which just shows that dog owners don’t know how great cats are. It is most likely that parents make these decisions, which shows that children might have not had a role in picking the pet they had, if they have a pet at all.
Of those who responded they prefer cats, 45.8% of people picked cats because they are cute, 12.5% said they are less work, and 8.3% of people said that they are not loud. Therefore, this proves my reasons stated above.
Even if dog owners disagree, my opinion still stands that cats are better than dogs.
