A connection between Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) and Allie Hamilton (Rachel Mcdams) that would move mountains is at the heart of the classic romcom movie, The Notebook.
When I first watched the movie, it was on Netflix. You can also see it on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, or YouTube. The running time is two hours and one minute. Personally, I believe that this is a need-to-watch movie that almost everyone has to see at least once.
I would not show this movie to little kids. It is PG-13 and has some minor inappropriate scenes, moderate violence, some profanity, and some smoking. Everyone else should see it.
A low-paid lumber mill worker meets a wealthy teen girl at a carnival with his friends. The boy instantly falls head over heels and would do anything for her. She plays hard to get, but that doesn’t stop him from stealing her heart.
It is set in the 1940’s, which is reflected through the wardrobe and the setting. One thing that I didn’t particularly like was the clothing. I feel like it just didn’t set the tone of the movie.
The setting was spectacular. For just the beginning, we see a light-filled carnival with rides, and a ferris wheel that never disappoints for an iconic scene. There is also a scene with an abandoned house that gives an eerie feel. There are dead vines, plants, and the house also sets the movie.
What I absolutely loved about this movie was how fast it went – not too fast that I couldn’t keep up, but the way that they fell in love really quickly reflects their romantic connection to each other. The movie provides a lot of tension between the two actors.
One thing that stood out to me was the acting. The connection between Noah and Allie was amazing. You could tell that they were clearly in love, and had feelings for each other.
This spectacular story is fun, emotional, creative, and very much moving all in one. For me, it is a kind of movie you could watch millions of times and never die of boredom.
In the end, it was an amazing movie and I rate it 5 out of 5 RedHawks. The Notebook was very special for me, and will make me cry every time I watch it. I highly recommend it.
