Monday, October 21, kicked off the start of Red Ribbon Week at Marist. Red Ribbon week is a national awareness campaign dedicated to preventing drug and substance abuse.
For students , this week serves as a reminder of the importance their actions have on their lives.
“It encourages students to live lives where they focus on making good choices,” said SADD (Students Against Destructive Decision) club moderator, Ms. Claire Kelly.
Throughout this week Marist has organized a variety of events to engage students with the campaign.
“We have a lot of events going on this week, and we would love for people to come to any of them. We have a Kahoot at lunch, and bingo. After school, Coach Pettinger will be doing yoga, and Friday after school, we will be hosting an end of Red Ribbon Week celebration with cookie decorating and decoration take down,” said Kelly.
