The club responsible for creating the 2024-25 yearbook is already hard at work. Their job is to document Marist history and create books to show growth, friendships, and accomplishments from the year.
Ms. Hoffmann, the club supervisor, says members can learn many valuable skills that will be useful in the future.
“That can include communication, photography, writing skills, leadership, time management, meeting deadlines, and handling problems. But the yearbook is important in general because it is marking history,” says Hoffmann.
As president of the yearbook club, senior Hannah Sutker ensures everyone has equal opportunities and that all the pages are distributed. This is her third year being involved in the yearbook club.
“There’s a lot of work, but a lot of fun, getting to meet new people, and getting to work with others,” says Sutker. “You get to be involved in the book that holds memories of the school year.”
Currently, they are working on brainstorming for the new yearbook theme and learning the technology program, how to create the book, and camera use. Semester two includes gathering content and designing the book.
As of now, they are also working on the distribution of last year’s yearbooks, as they have just arrived this week.
“It is important that the yearbook is showcasing everything from fall all the way until June, therefore the kids in yearbook are still making the book over the summer,” says Hoffmann.
The club meets in room CS-2 every other Tuesday after school.
