Marist Band has started the new school year off strong. The band has been busy from playing at football games to participating in recruitment events.
“The band is great. We are excited for our upcoming football games and performances,” Band Director Mr. Creagh says. ”We are really looking forward to our Hawaii Tour in March 2025.”
The upcoming trip to Hawaii has brought them some positive attention.
“We have been working up our piece that we will be performing at the National Vietnam Veterans Day Parade in Honolulu,” Creagh said. “We will be performing marching band music while we are in Hawaii.”
The Marist band was personally invited to perform at the parade and will perform on the USS Missouri as well. Their trip will happen during the days off on spring break.
“I believe that most people join because they have a passion for music, want to go on band tours, and have fun with their friends,” Creagh says.
Marist band has become a place for students to get along and collaborate with one another. This has caused many friends to join the band together.
“I think that the best part has been seeing the growth over the last few weeks. Our students are passionate about performing well, and I believe that we are really focused and fully prepared for the rest of the season,” Creagh said.
