The Marist girls varsity golf team has a very positive outlook this season. So far in the season, the girls are currently trying their best with a status of 4-6. The team continues to work hard and intends to improve every day.
The strengths of the team include healthy relationships with each other which have benefited their performance on the golf course. They make sure to motivate one another.
“We are always helping each other out on the course and keeping each other’s spirits up,” said player Julia Simpson.
On the other hand, the team tends to struggle with keeping at the same pace as the previous match. Another challenge is being able to maintain a strong mindset during the intense matches.
“We need to stay consistent and not let the match you just played affect the next one,” said player Christine Curtin.
Sportsmanship is key. It’s very respectful between the players on the team as well as other teams. They make sure to show kindness and remain cheerful throughout the matches.
This year, the golf team has reduced the number of members. According to the coach, the cut has made it easier for them because they have been able to play more and enhance their skills.
Some of the players say otherwise.
“I feel like it’s been hard to keep playing the same girls over and over again,” said player Julia Simpson.
