Marist high school had another Taylor Swift raffle this school year. The lucky winner of this year’s raffle was Meghan Doherty, from Palos Heights.
The difference this time is the tickets are for Swift’s Miami show this year in November, versus last year in Paris.
Marist sold tickets for 100 dollars each again and with the proceeds going towards the same cause, financial aid for underprivileged students.
In addition to the concert, Doherty won $2,500 cash allowance, and a two-night stay in a hotel in Miami.
“Our net profit was $32,000. but we used $12,000. of those dollars to pay for the tickets, airfare, hotel room, as well as spending money while in Florida. The other $20,000. is going towards financial aid,” said Father Tom Hurley
The winner’s son, Eddie Doherty, is a sophomore Marist High School and MHS Media was able to get an interview with him.
“My mom and my younger sister are very big Taylor Swift fans, so they decided to enter the raffle because why not there’s a chance to win. My mom was very shocked and excited when Marist HighSchool called her and told her she had won,” he said.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has been going on for over a year now and fans are still selling out stadiums to see every Era of Taylor Swift’s music.
“Taylor Swift has been playing non-stop in the house since my mom and sister won the raffles,” said Doherty
